Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mix paints, stains, and primers accurately using color theory knowledge to achieve desired shades and finishes.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and other hand or power tools efficiently and safely.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project scope and specific requirements.
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as plastering, caulking, stucco application, and drywall finishing for smooth results.
- Execute renovation projects including restoration work, remodeling, fixture installation, and maintenance tasks.
- Utilize carpentry skills like trim carpentry, frame carpentry, and masonry to prepare surfaces or make structural adjustments as needed.
- Conduct commercial and industrial painting projects with attention to safety protocols on construction sites.
- Use schematics and technical instructions to ensure precise application of coatings on various materials like concrete, masonry, or metal surfaces.
- Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools including welding equipment when necessary for specialized applications.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential painting with a strong understanding of color theory and finishing techniques.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating and reading blueprints or schematics for accurate project planning.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of construction painting practices across different settings—residential, commercial, industrial—and related skills such as plastering, caulking, restoration, and renovation work.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools like putty knives or scrapers as well as power tools including airless sprayers and drills.
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and mixing paints or calculating material quantities.
- Experience with specialty applications such as stucco or welding is a plus but not required.
- Prior involvement in construction or handyman roles that demonstrate versatility across various maintenance tasks is highly valued.
