Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Steel Detailer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and comprehensive steel fabrication drawings that serve as the blueprint for fabrication and erection. Your expertise will ensure that all steel components are accurately designed, coordinated, and ready for seamless assembly on-site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects by translating architectural and structural concepts into detailed, actionable plans.
Duties
- Develop detailed steel fabrication and erection drawings using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks.
- Interpret architectural, structural, and/or engineering schematics to produce accurate steel shop drawings.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and construction teams to ensure design precision and project timelines are met.
- Review and incorporate client specifications, building codes, safety standards, and project requirements into detailed drawings.
- Prepare comprehensive schematics and technical documentation necessary for fabrication and installation processes.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in resolving design conflicts through detailed drafting adjustments and coordination meetings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Steel Detailer or similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, 3ds Max (or similar 3D modeling tools).
- Strong understanding of schematics, system design, mechanical design, interior design, graphic design, and 2D animation related to construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction processes and safety standards relevant to steel fabrication and erection.
- Excellent drafting skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and translate them into precise fabrication plans.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various stages of project development.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
