Calibration and Repair Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Calibration and Repair Technician will support the Seal Beach Calibration Laboratory by providing calibration and repair services for TMDE, primarily in a laboratory setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Troubleshooting, tear-down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and calibration of test equipment
· Maintains, repairs, and calibrates Test Measurement and Diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
· Performs general maintenance and overhaul procedures and uses TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Metrology Technician – 2-3 Years of Experience - Must have knowledge and perform the following activities. Repair, maintain, and calibrate items such as oscilloscopes; spectrum, network, and logic analyzers; radar, communication, and ILS test sets; multimeters; power meters and power sensors; phase meters; signal and function generators; frequency counters; LCR analyzers; Microwave equipment; Specialized Avionics Test Equipment, TACAN T/S, Radar T/S, computer (ATE) systems and other specialized systems equipment. Responsible for utilizing commercial and Navy documentation schematics, wiring diagrams, Instrument Calibration Procedures (ICPs) and technical manuals (NAVAIR drawing and publications) to troubleshoot test equipment to board and component level. The incumbent is responsible for conducting all the repairs to the component level and replacement of components and/or parts. Test, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, install, and calibrate a variety of standard and nonstandard equipment with minimal guidance or procedures.
· Possesses the knowledge required to read and understand schematic and wiring drawings.
· Good written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
· Associate degree in a related field or commensurate experience.
· Completion of a DoD “A” School in Metrology or a related field of study is a plus.

Pay: $32.82 -$37.20 per hour based on experience

Security Clearance Required: Secret preferred, Must qualify for and obtain a Secret clearance
