About Us
We're a Buffalo Grove, IL -based manufacturer LED sports lighting, off-grid solar lighting fixtures. Our products are ETL Listed, DLC Premium, and BAA-compliant, and we're WBE/MBE certified. We sell factory-direct to municipalities, contractors, sports facilities, and developers nationwide.
The Role
We're hiring a results-driven sales rep to own the full sales cycle for our sports lighting and solar lighting projects — from first inquiry to closed deal. This is a project-based sales role: you'll be the point person who turns leads, RFQs, and public bids into won business.
What You'll Do
- Respond to and qualify inbound inquiries for sports and solar lighting projects
- Track, prepare, and submit public and private bids (RFQs, RFPs, bid platforms)
- Follow up consistently on quotes, bids, and open opportunities — persistence is what closes these deals
- Build relationships with general contractors, municipalities, athletic facilities, and developers
- Work with our engineering and estimating team to deliver accurate photometric layouts and quotes
- Manage the pipeline through close, then hand off cleanly to operations
- Hit revenue and closing targets
Requirements
- 2+ years of B2B or project-based sales experience
- Lighting, construction, electrical, or building products experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience preparing and submitting bids/RFPs and reading project specs
- Comfortable managing long sales cycles and multiple open bids at once
- Strong follow-up discipline — you don't let leads go cold
- Proficiency with CRM software
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work across engineering, estimating, and operations
- Authorized to work in the US
Compensation
- $48,000-55,000 base salary
- 5% commission on net product revenue (after any discounts, excluding freight and installation labor)
- Uncapped commission — strong closers can significantly increase total earnings on project-based deals
