Restoration Technician
Department: Operations
Reports To: Lead Technician / Project Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary
The Restoration Technician is responsible for performing emergency mitigation, demolition, cleaning, contents handling, and restoration services for residential and commercial properties damaged by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other disasters. Technicians work under the direction of a Lead Technician and are expected to perform quality work while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Water Damage Restoration
- Respond to emergency water losses.
- Perform water extraction using commercial equipment.
- Set up and monitor drying equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers.
- Remove damaged materials as directed.
- Take moisture readings and assist with moisture mapping.
- Clean and prepare affected areas for restoration.
- Maintain drying equipment and ensure proper operation.
Fire and Smoke Restoration
- Assist with emergency board-up and roof tarping services.
- Remove fire-damaged materials as directed.
- Perform smoke and soot cleaning of structural surfaces and contents.
- Set up containment and HEPA filtration equipment.
- Assist with deodorization procedures.
- Protect unaffected areas during demolition and cleaning.
Contents Handling
- Pack, wrap, and inventory customer belongings.
- Safely move furniture and household contents.
- Load and unload company vehicles.
- Label and organize boxes and furniture.
- Assist with contents cleaning and storage.
- Deliver and reinstall contents after restoration is complete.
Demolition and Cleanup
- Remove drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinetry, and other damaged building materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Properly dispose of debris in accordance with company procedures.
- Protect customer property from additional damage during restoration.
Equipment Responsibilities
- Operate restoration equipment safely and efficiently.
- Clean and maintain company equipment after each use.
- Report damaged or missing equipment immediately.
- Assist with keeping company vehicles clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Documentation
- Record daily work completed.
- Take before, during, and after photographs of projects.
- Track labor hours accurately.
- Document equipment placement and removal.
- Complete required paperwork and electronic documentation as assigned.
Customer Service
- Treat customers with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.
- Answer customer questions within the scope of your responsibilities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Respect customer property and privacy at all times.
Safety
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain safe work practices on every job site.
- Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Participate in required safety meetings and training.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Restoration, construction, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required).
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is a plus but not required.
- Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Push and pull restoration equipment.
- Bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and noisy environments.
- Work from ladders and elevated surfaces when required.
- Wear respirators and other required PPE.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Must be available for emergency response.
- Rotating on-call schedule may be required.
- Overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required during emergency situations.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
