POSITION SUMMARY:
ICAP is a private, non-profit agency mobilizing private and public sector resources to help low and moderate-income people improve their living conditions. The Community Services division provides utility and rent assistance for income eligible households.
The Energy Assistance Program Receptionist/Intake Clerk is a seasonal position (full-time during EAP season) for the Energy Assistance Program that coordinates with front office staff for the scheduling of EAP appointments. This position assists with answering the telephone, communicating with all agency customers, processing of Energy Assistance Program mail, and scanning Energy Assistance Program documentation files for all ICAP Outreach offices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School or High School Equivalency required
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate additional office equipment
- Prior social service experience helpful
- Excellent customer service skills
- Consent to and successful review of Limited Criminal History review
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as receptionist for Energy Assistance Program walk-in and telephone clients
- Determine client eligibility based on information provided
- Answer telephone, communicate with all agency customers, staff and vendors
- Scan EAP documentation for all counties in service area
- Coordinate the scheduling of EAP appointments
- Screen clients for necessary documentation and refer to intake staff
- Conduct assessments to identify additional services needed by Energy Assistance Program applicants.
- Knowledge of area social service organizations for client referrals
- Participate in all EAP training and program meetings
- Assist in the application process of energy clients as necessary
- Verify income for applications in a timely manner
- Work well independently and as a team member cooperating with department and agency staff, and customers
- Be detail oriented and work well under pressure
- Responsible for maintaining the EAP offices in a clean and tidy manner
- May be requested to work overtime as necessary
- All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sits at a desk and computer in a climate controlled office
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: The EAP Receptionist/Intake Clerk reports to the Deputy Coordinator.
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Level VII Temporary Staff ( Non-Exempt)
SALARY: DOQ
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Reduction in the workforce resulting in job elimination may become necessary due to reorganization or loss of program funds.
HOURS PER WEEK: 37.5
WEEKS PER YEAR: Varies-depends on funding
Pay: $13.00 per hour
