Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases and hard goods orders; return empty cylinders to branch or plant for refilling.
- Perform all required pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
- Complete all FDA/DOT required documentation.
- Track delivery and pick-up of cylinders at customer sites using handheld device and complete all the required information/steps during the delivery and pick-up processes.
- Keep truck clean and in line with DOT standards.
- Communicate with supervisor on truck maintenance, customer-related issues, and delivery efficiencies.
- Establish and maintain good customer relations by communicating in person with customers.
- Identify and monitor customers’ needs and work with them to maintain proper hard goods and cylinder levels to minimize or eliminate emergency deliveries.
- Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One (1) year driving experience.
- CDL A or B with Hazmat Endorsement.
- Clean MVR driving record.
- Employee must be able to lift 65 lbs.
- Employee must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the DOT.
- Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time; bend; use hands and arms; and handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 pounds up to a maximum of 600 pounds.
