Some people manage projects.
Others build teams that build projects.
We're looking for the second kind.
Alpha Inc. is searching for a Civil Superintendent who leads from the front, earns respect in the field, and refuses to compromise on safety, quality, or execution.
This isn't a role for someone who simply keeps schedules updated. It's for a leader who develops crews, solves problems before they become crises, holds high standards without sacrificing relationships, and takes ownership of every project as if their name is on it.
If you're the type of leader who can walk a jobsite, inspire a crew, earn a client's trust, and deliver exceptional results—all before lunch—we want to meet you.
Alpha Inc. is one of Hawai?i's premier heavy civil construction and infrastructure companies. From site development and utilities to renewable energy and complex infrastructure projects, we build the foundation that keeps our islands moving forward.
But what truly separates us isn't the equipment.
It's our people.
Everything we do is driven by our three Core Values:
We treat people with respect, build trust through humility, and create workplaces where safety and people always come first.
Great projects aren't built by individuals. They're built by teams working together toward one goal.
We embrace accountability, pursue excellence relentlessly, and never settle for "good enough."
If these values sound like how you already lead, you'll fit right in.
As Civil Superintendent, you'll serve as the operational leader in the field—connecting project management with field execution while ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to Alpha's high standards.
- Direct day-to-day heavy civil construction activities from project startup through completion.
-
Coordinate closely with Project Managers and Foremen to execute work plans and meet production goals.
-
Develop work schedules that maximize manpower, equipment, and resources while adapting to changing field conditions.
-
Monitor project performance and proactively remove obstacles before they impact delivery.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop Foremen and field crews.
-
Create an environment where accountability, growth, and teamwork thrive.
-
Conduct performance evaluations and support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
-
Build leaders—not just crews.
- Lead by example in enforcing Alpha's safety culture.
-
Conduct safety meetings, training, and field observations.
-
Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety standards.
-
Maintain uncompromising quality throughout every phase of construction.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings with confidence.
-
Coordinate equipment, subcontractors, materials, and labor to maintain production goals.
-
Review and negotiate change orders while balancing project budgets and client expectations.
-
Identify efficiencies that improve productivity without sacrificing quality.
- Serve as a trusted representative of Alpha on every jobsite.
-
Communicate professionally with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
-
Resolve field issues quickly while protecting project schedules and relationships.
- Monitor budgets, production, quality, and schedules.
-
Provide timely progress updates to leadership.
-
Keep projects moving forward with proactive planning and decisive leadership.
You don't just supervise projects.
You build teams that consistently outperform expectations.

-
Proven experience leading multiple crews and complex civil construction projects.
-
Demonstrated success managing schedules, budgets, productivity, and quality.

You naturally:
-
Lead with confidence—not ego.
-
Hold people accountable while earning their respect.
-
Stay calm under pressure.
-
Communicate clearly with crews, clients, and leadership.
-
Solve problems instead of assigning blame.
-
Develop people instead of simply directing them.
Most importantly, you embody Alpha's Core Values every day.
You'll join a company that believes great Superintendents deserve more than just another project.
You'll have the opportunity to:
-
Lead meaningful infrastructure projects that improve Hawai?i's communities.
-
Work alongside some of the industry's best field professionals.
-
Develop future leaders while advancing your own career.
-
Join a company where culture isn't a slogan—it's how we operate every day.
