Build Skills. Make an Impact. Grow as an Instructor.
Master Kang’s Martial Arts is looking for a dependable, energetic, and positive Part-Time Taekwondo Assistant Instructor to join our Plano team.
If you enjoy working with children, like being active, and want a job where you can learn, grow, and make a positive impact, this may be a great fit for you.
This position requires reliable availability beginning at 2:00 PM on scheduled weekdays.
Previous Taekwondo teaching experience is not required. We provide paid, on-the-job training and will teach the right candidate how to assist classes, work effectively with students, and gradually develop into a confident instructor.
We are not simply looking for someone to fill a shift. We are looking for someone who wants to become part of a team, develop leadership and teaching skills, and grow with our school over time.
What Your Day Will Look Like
Your workday begins before classes so our team has time to prepare, train, and communicate together.
You will:
- Arrive by 2:00 PM on scheduled weekdays
- Participate in team meetings and instructor training
- Help prepare the school for classes, including organization, setup, and light cleaning
- Assist instructors during Taekwondo classes
- Encourage and motivate students
- Help children stay focused, safe, and actively engaged in class
- Learn our curriculum, teaching methods, and class management system
- Gradually take on more teaching responsibilities as your skills develop
- Help create a positive, professional, and welcoming environment for students and families
Who We’re Looking For

- Positive, energetic, and willing to learn
- Comfortable working actively with children
- Coachable and open to feedback
- Able to communicate professionally with students, parents, and coworkers
- Interested in teaching, leadership, sports, fitness, or youth development
- Able to reliably begin work at 2:00 PM on scheduled weekdays
- Able to maintain reliable transportation to and from work
Experience in Taekwondo, martial arts, sports, coaching, childcare, education, or youth programs is a plus, but not required.
Pre-Employment Screening
Because this position involves working directly with children, selected candidates will be required to complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening before final employment.
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of both screenings. Candidates must be willing to complete these screenings as part of the hiring process.
Authorized screening costs will be covered or reimbursed by Master Kang’s Martial Arts.
