Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations and treatments
- Administer medications and injections following proper aseptic techniques
- Support pet care activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and cleaning kennels or cages
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medications, and laboratory tests
- Help with laboratory procedures such as sample collection and processing
- Manage front desk duties including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering phone inquiries
- Support animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal health and well-being of all animals in the clinic
- Handle small animals with confidence and compassion
- Assist with specialized procedures like animal catheterization or handling animals requiring advanced restraint techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to strict infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a veterinary technician assistant or veterinary assistant is required for this role. At least 1 year experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic laboratory procedures
- Strong animal husbandry skills with an understanding of pet care best practices
- Ability to handle multiple species including dogs and cats confidently and safely
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude
- A commitment to ongoing learning about veterinary practices and animal health

Predictable Scheduling - Full-time hours are 35 hours per week, with schedules posted in advance to support work-life balance. We will be extending our office hours at the end of July, at which time full-time hours will be 40 hours a week. While we do require weekend shifts, your time off will be respected.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
