Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail oriented individual to join our team as a cultivation technician. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, team oriented individual with passion for horticulture, learning and research. The Cultivation Technician assists with daily plant care and facility upkeep from propagation through harvest under the guidance of the Facility Operator.
CBTC LLC is a California state-licensed cannabis cultivation facility operating in compliance with the California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) and all applicable state and local laws.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily plant care including watering, pruning, trellising, defoliation, and pest management under IPM guidelines.
- Collect data on plant growth and development under research conditions.
- Assist with propagation activities such as cloning, transplanting, and seed germination.
- Monitor and report plant health issues including pests, disease, and environmental stress.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with California track-and-trace (METRC) requirements.
- Follow all cultivation SOPs, safety procedures, and state compliance standards.
- Support harvest operations including plant takedown, trimming, weighing, and compliant waste disposal.
- Maintain cleanliness of cultivation areas, tools, and equipment per sanitation protocols.
- Safely handle fertilizers, pesticides, and other cultivation materials in accordance with Cal/OSHA standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older per California law.
- Must be able to pass a state-required Department of Justice (DOJ) background check.
- Previous horticulture or cannabis cultivation experience is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperature, humidity, and lighting conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed SOPs and improve processes through collaboration.
- Proficiency with Google suite, Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail and web browsers.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Work Environment & Compliance Notes
- This position works in an indoor cultivation environment with exposure to bright lights, humidity, and plant materials.
- PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided and must be worn when required.
- All employees are required to comply with California cannabis workplace regulations, including but not limited to DCC compliance, Cal/OSHA standards, and company policies.
- This role may require working weekends, evenings, or holidays based on cultivation schedules.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $25-28 depending on experience.
