This role oversees the daily operations of the Admitting and Guest Relations Department, ensuring efficient patient admissions, accurate hospital census management, collection of patient financial responsibilities (deductibles and co-pays), and coordination with hospital leadership. The position is accountable for departmental performance and outcomes on a 24/7 basis, including staff management, policy implementation, process improvement, and maintaining high operational efficiency across the hospital.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital Admitting or Access Services department, or a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration (BSHA) in lieu of experience.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
Ability to evaluate processes and develop operational improvements.
Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and communication skills.
Manage and supervise Admitting and Guest Relations operations.
Plan staffing and oversee departmental performance.
Implement and enforce policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate patient admissions and hospital census reporting.
Helps ensure collection of deductibles, co-pays, and related patient financial processes.
Collaborate with department directors and supervisors to optimize hospital operations.
Analyze workflows and implement process improvements.
Audits and maintains unit floor census and ensures the computerized systems are accurate
