Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Driver to provide reliable transportation services for residents at our assisted living facility. This role is vital in ensuring residents travel safely and comfortably to appointments, outings, and other destinations within the local area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for supporting our community’s well-being. Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger vehicles, including passenger vans, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and state transportation regulations
- Transport residents to medical appointments, recreational outings, shopping trips, and other scheduled activities within local routes
- Assist residents with boarding and disembarking vehicles, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort and safety during transit
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including routine checks on tires, fluids, brakes, and lights & reporting these issues to maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with residents to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns during transportation
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual handling when assisting residents with mobility.
- Keep accurate records of and vehicle maintenance reports
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or chauffeur driving passenger vehicles such as vans, limousines, or shuttle buses is highly preferred
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and timely arrivals
- Experience in medical transportation or working with assisted living communities is advantageous
- Knowledge of local driving routes and adherence to traffic regulations is essential
- Strong communication skills for engaging positively with residents and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading mobility aids or luggage
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for operating passenger vehicles; clean driving record required
- Experience in manual handling and vehicle maintenance tasks is beneficial

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
