York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.
The College is recruiting for two Administrative Assistant, Shared Services positions. One position will initially be assigned to Allied Health, and the other to Workforce and Economic Development. As the College’s shared-services model develops, these positions may transition to centralized support serving multiple areas. This evolving structure offers opportunities to build broad institutional knowledge, develop experience across business functions, and contribute to consistent service throughout the College.

Assigned Administrative and Business Operations Support – Performs assigned administrative and business operations functions for one or more College departments, divisions, or centralized service areas. Prepares, reviews, routes, tracks, and follows up on routine documents, forms, requests, records, and transactions. Ensures assigned work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with College procedures.

Specialized Functional Support – Provides focused support in assigned functional areas based on operational need and supervisor direction. Functional assignments may include purchasing and procurement documentation, budget and expense support, front-end HR document routing, scheduling and logistics, records management, testing or program support, customer service, or other business operations processes. Maintains working knowledge of assigned processes and supports consistent service delivery within those areas.

Records, Systems, and Process Documentation – Maintains accurate records, shared files, tracking tools, and process documentation related to assigned functions. Enters and updates information in applicable systems, monitors deadlines, follows up on incomplete information, and helps ensure continuity of workflow. Assists with documenting routine procedures to support consistency, training, and operational coverage.

Communication and Service Coordination – Communicates with employees, students, vendors, community partners, and internal College offices regarding assigned business processes. Responds to routine inquiries, gathers needed information, provides status updates, routes requests appropriately, and supports timely resolution of administrative matters. Maintains confidentiality and provides professional, service-oriented support.
High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant experience in administrative support, office operations, business operations, customer service, records management, or a related area. Higher education may be substituted for the required work experience.
Experience using financial, scheduling, student information, document management, or enterprise systems.
