Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, supervise accounting staff, manage the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, strong excel skills and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Analyze financial results and explain significant variances.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and cash management.
- Ensure timely bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure timely governmental reporting (sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, etc.)
- Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury activities.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate annual financial audits and tax preparation with external auditors and advisors.
- Prepare regulatory filings and reporting requirements.
- Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide financial recommendations to leadership to support business decisions.
Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using ERP or accounting software (such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Salary Range
$80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, education, certifications.
