SUMMARY OF POSITION
Develop and implement a safe and effective training environment for members of the Elms College Cheerleading Team. Demonstrate excellent leadership, role modeling, organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong commitment to Elms College policies and regulations. Develop a positive and effective team environment focused on holistic student development.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement 3 weekly workouts/practices per week. Responsible for teaching skills and providing opportunities for specific knowledge.
- Planning overall program goals, organizing practice and performance management.
- Recruitment of Cheerleaders throughout the academic year utilizing the most currently used methods.
- Serve as advisor to the Cheerleading team, about budget management, and club standing responsibilities as outlined by the Elms College Student Government Association (SGA).
- Coordinate with the Elms Athletic Department on use of facilities and performing at games. Coordinate Cheerleading Team Fundraisers.
- Participate in monthly meetings with the Assistant Director of Engagement to discuss performance evaluations and communicate program updates, needs, or concerns.
- Work to advance and develop the cheerleading program. Promote safe and healthy practices at all times.
- Attend all team performances and supervise all team events and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Coaching or athletics administration experience is essential.
- Up-to-date ACCAA certification.
- Proven ability to relate to students, academic community, student body, off-campus constituents, professional colleagues and the general public.
- Proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills. Ability to use various software applications and standard office equipment.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Ability to work with a diverse campus community.

- Demonstrated high level of commitment to the ideals of the coaching manual. Ability to plan and implement successful programs as required.
- Ability to recruit academically qualified cheerleaders.
- Demonstrated willingness to work with various departments to encourage and strengthen student interest in Elms College.
