Aurora Packing Company is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for:
- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position performs predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities while complying with company policies, food safety requirements, and all safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Maintenance
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and set up production equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and facility systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Test, repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment and components.
- Read and interpret work orders, technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Adjust and calibrate production equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery.
- Move, install, and relocate machinery and equipment.
- Rebuild trolleys and repair production support equipment.
- Sharpen air knives and maintain specialty production tools.
- Fabricate and repair hoses and fittings.
- Grease tools, machinery, and production equipment.
Mechanical and Electrical Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, and related components.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including:
- 110-Volt electrical systems
- 240-Volt electrical systems
- 480-Volt electrical systems
- Three-phase motors and electrical cabinets
- Switches, sensors, relays, and controls
- Read and understand wiring schematics and electrical diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and repair production machinery and automated equipment.
Welding and Fabrication
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
- MIG and TIG welding experience preferred.
- Utilize grinders, air tools, and specialty maintenance equipment.
Equipment and Facility Systems
- Maintain forklifts, hand lifts, hoists, rails, chains, and lifting equipment.
- Repair forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of boilers and hot water systems.
- Assist with maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Cryovac and other packaging equipment.
- Perform minor heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) repairs.
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Support plant safety initiatives and maintain compliance with all safety procedures.
- Train and mentor less experienced maintenance team members as skills and experience permit.
Skills and QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a skilled trade apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and specialty maintenance equipment.
- Steady work history.
- Strong behavior-based safety mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime, including weekends, when scheduled.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial electrical experience.
- Experience with 240V and 480V electrical systems.
- Welding experience (MIG and TIG).
- HVAC maintenance experience.
- Forklift maintenance and repair experience.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Experience with packaging equipment and Cryovac systems.
- Work Lift certification or previous Work Lift experience.
- Forklift certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds or more.
- Ability to perform work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
- Steady hand and good eye coordination for handling small and moving components.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, lifts, hoists, chains, rails, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges, and work with precision measuring devices.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.10 - $31.10 per hour
