About the Role
Provide construction cost estimating support for a major river crossing and guideway contract, including a new cable-stayed bridge, elevated guideway, retained cut guideway sections, and related earthwork and site improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare independent cost estimates for proposed contract changes for comparison with contractor cost proposals, supporting the Resident Engineer's negotiating position.
- Support change order price negotiations through detailed cost analysis and estimating.
- Prepare cost estimates to support owner-led value engineering efforts.
- Provide cost analysis support for evaluating contractor claims, proposed accelerations, and schedule workarounds.
- Support MACC (Maximum Allowable Construction Cost) estimating and negotiation activities for the HC-GCCM delivery method.
- Coordinate with project controls and scheduling staff to align cost and schedule impacts.
Qualifications
- Experience estimating heavy civil construction work — bridges (including cable-stayed or long-span structures preferred), elevated guideways, retaining walls, and earthwork.
- Familiarity with alternative delivery (HC-GCCM) cost negotiation processes.
- Strong command of construction cost databases, unit pricing, and change order valuation methods.
- Experience on transit, bridge, or other large public infrastructure programs preferred.
Pay: From $115,000.00 per year
