American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab Prep/Recovery position requiring critical care or ED background and ACLS/PALS certification.
-
Work in the Procedural Pre/Post unit within a Radiology Nursing department at a hospital
-
24-bed unit caring for cardiac cath lab and EP lab patients
-
Patient ratios of 3-4:1 for pre/post care and 1:1 for intraprocedural care
-
CNA support available in both pre and post areas
-
Uses IV pumps, specialty beds, bedside monitors, and telemetry boxes
-
Cerner documentation system used
-
Performs IR, invasive CT, and invasive ultrasound procedures
-
Scheduled for four 10-hour shifts per week
-
On-call required 4-5 weekday nights per 6-week schedule and every 10th-11th weekend

No floating required, though flexing based on patient volume may occur

Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand

Current certifications: ACLS and PALS

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

ICU or ED experience required
-
Previous IR experience and moderate sedation experience preferred

Experience with cardiac diagnoses, vascular patients, IVDA, chest tubes, and CVA cases

Critical care and/or previous procedural experience required, with IR experience preferred
-
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
-
Prep and recover cardiac cath lab and EP lab patients
-
Support provided within a Comprehensive Stroke Center with active Code Trauma and Code Stroke programs
-
Green hospital-issued scrubs required

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
