American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab Recovery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ACLS certification, and an active NC or compact RN license.

Position is located in the Cath Lab Recovery unit (Procedural Pre/Post) of a large, 815-bed Magnet-designated regional referral center in Asheville, NC
-
Unit has 24 beds with a 3:1 patient ratio

Patient population includes procedural patients with cardiac diagnoses, with emphasis on Cath, EP Lab, and Structural Heart cases

CNA support is available on the unit

Equipment used includes IV pumps, specialty beds, bedside monitors, telemetry boxes, and Zoll devices

EMR system is Cerner
-
Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, with shift times of 0600–1830 or 0800–2030
-
Floating required to IR Pre/Post; flex staffing based on patient volume

13-week contract

Active NC or compact RN license required
-
Current ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date)

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac cath lab or a related specialty

ICU or Cardiac Stepdown experience required; prior IR or cath lab experience strongly preferred

Experience with moderate sedation required

Proficiency with cardiac diagnoses and procedural patient care required

US Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB) required for consideration; Canadian SSNs are not accepted

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Procedures performed on the unit include sheath pulls, groin management, cardioversions, radial access site management, and general anesthesia (GA) recovery

Green hospital-issued scrubs are required

The facility is a Level II trauma center and serves as the region's only provider of open heart and interventional cardiology services
