Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Machinist to operate CNC machines and use existing programming to produce tools & parts to dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate will possess several years of CNC operating experience, some exposure to CNC programming, and attributes of a self-starter as this individual will at times work under indirect supervision.

Job Accountabilities:

Set-up and operate 3,4 and 5-axis CNC machines to produce tooling and parts to tight dimensional and tolerance requirements

Run and troubleshoot existing CNC programs, with room to grow into programming your own

Work directly with Engineering and Production to solve opportunities on the floor

Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment running right

Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Bring ideas for new technology and process improvements we want to hear them

Follow standard industrial practices for composites and other materials

Other responsibilities as assigned
Job Specifications:
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience: 2-3 years of relevant work experience
Skills:
-
Some exposure to CNC programming (preferred, not required)

Comfort with precision measuring tools: micrometers, pin gages, dial indicators, screw pitch gages, height gages, comparator stands

Solid grasp of trigonometry and geometric math

A self-starter mindset: you're comfortable working under indirect supervision

Strong communication with customers, peers, and both technical and non-technical teammates

Organizational skills and cleanliness.

Bonus: experience laminating carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, or other composite materials
Physical Requirements:
Our parts and machines run large. This role requires the ability to lift minimum 50 lbs, bend and crouch regularly, and occasionally climb into machines to set up work.
