Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinic Manager/Medical Biller to oversee the operations of our small, independent psychotherapy clinic, generally requiring from 10-30 hours per week. This position is mostly a work-from-home position, with only 1-hour weekly required for in-person meetings with the chief psychologist in downtown Honolulu. Knowledge about credentialing with insurance companies and their required updates is important for this role. Also, familiarity with the procedures to enroll payers with EDI/ERA (Electronic Data Interchange/ Electronic Remittance Advice) will be needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare billing procedures/software platforms (such as Google Sheets) and be comfortable with moderate administrative duties (following up with insurance companies on claims, invoicing clients for copayments, processing intake paperwork of a personal and private nature from patients, and handling sensitive mail, faxes and phone calls).
Responsibilities:
- Process intakes and psychotherapy claims
- Maintain electronic health records using Office Ally or similar systems
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Handle patient inquiries, issues, and complaints in a professional manner
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a mental health office
- Proficiency in Office Ally, or similar medical practice management software
- Strong knowledge of mental health terminology and practice management principles
- Excellent organizational skills for effective office management
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and problem-solve efficiently
