We are looking to hire a motivated and committed Trainee GC Technologist at our Creative Center in Parsippany, NJ. This trainee role is designed for individuals passionate about both technical and the creative aspects of perfumery. You will support analytical chemists and perfumers in formula analysis, fragrance evaluation, and raw material research. This is a minimum two-year hands-on learning opportunity with exposure to industry-standard tools, methodologies, and fragrance creation processes.
Key Responsibilities

Lengthy training program learning ground level analytical functions including olfactive training

Support fragrance formulation by preparing samples and maintaining accurate records

Assist in analyzing fragrance compositions using laboratory techniques (e.g., GC-MS, chromatography)

Conduct olfactory evaluations and maintain raw material libraries

Collaborate with analysts to reverse-engineer fragrances and identify key components

Maintain lab equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field is a plus.

Strong interest in perfumery, sensory science, and fragrance chemistry

General knowledge of the fragrance industry

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Keen sense of smell and ability to differentiate subtle scent variations

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment

Outside of the box thinking is a key quality to posses

Understanding of basic and mental math
Preferred Qualifications

Prior internship or coursework related to fragrance, flavor chemistry, or analytical chemistry

Familiarity with laboratory instruments such as GC-MS

Basic understanding of raw materials used in perfumery

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $68,000 to $80,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, and applicable legal considerations. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is awarded based on both individual and company performance.
