Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and service vehicles , diesel engine repair, and transmission troubleshooting techniques.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret mechanical systems diagrams for precise repairs on hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC units, and other complex machinery components.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair or customization needs.
- Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, forklifts, pavers, rollers, and other specialized machinery.
- Perform inspections of equipment for safety compliance and operational efficiency; document all repairs and maintenance activities thoroughly.
Skills
- Experience with heavy truck repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for complex mechanical systems across various machinery types.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems for trucks and heavy machinery.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques necessary for custom repairs or modifications.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance procedures.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
