Job purpose
Directly supervises all front office personnel and ensures proper completion of all front office duties. Manages all activities of the front desk, reservations, guest services, and telephone areas while providing high levels of hospitality to all guests.
Duties and responsibilities
- Upholds the hotel's commitment to hospitality at all times.
- Trains all front office personnel, and maintains constant training at all times.
- Schedules front office personnel and ensures adequate coverage for all shifts while keeping within the allocated staffing budget.
- Evaluates the job performance of each front office employee.
- Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments.
- Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated on internal and third-party sites.
- Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
- Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office personnel.
- Wears the proper uniform at all times and requires all front office employees to wear proper uniforms at all times.
- Maximizes room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily.
- Prepares revenue and occupancy forecasting.
- Ensures that front office employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and other employees at all times.
- Reviews daily front office work and activity reports generated by Night Audit.
- Reviews Front office log book and Guest feedback forms/reviews on a daily basis.
- Assists management with hiring and termination decisions for all front office personnel.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience; hotel experience preferred
- Able to understand, speak, read, and write in the basic English language
- Ability to effectively communicate and provide directions in both verbal and written form
- A flexible schedule is required and the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays if necessary
- Occasional travel may be required
