Job Summary
The General Laborer at the Transfer Station is responsible for supporting daily operations by sorting waste and recyclable materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting with equipment and facility upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Sort and segregate recyclable materials from the waste stream
- Maintain cleanliness of the yard and outside facilities
- Wash and clean trucks and equipment as needed.
- Assist operators with loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment activities.
- Act as a spotter when necessary to ensure safe equipment operation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous labor, construction, or waste/recycling experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify recyclable materials.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment..
