Job Summary
Join our kitchen team at Burl's, a new Southern-inspired diner serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. House smoked meats, house made desserts, red beans and rice, fried chicken and catfish, waffles, and classic breakfast foods. We are looking for open availability for mornings, nights, and weekends.
This is a tipped position, base rate is $14.50 an hour plus tips.
Total Average Earnings estimated depending on hours & schedule worked.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Use knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food prep tasks
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow during busy service hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with strong kitchen skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in culinary techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
