Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full-Time Medical Office Scheduler / Front Desk professional to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your responsibilities will include managing appointment scheduling, verifying patient information, handling medical records, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at the front desk
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Elation Health
- Verify patient insurance coverage and update demographic information accurately in health information management systems.
- Manage incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately
- Review and organize medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies and accurate recordkeeping
- Assist with medical billing processes, including collection of payments and coordination with insurance providers such as Medicare or private insurers
- Maintain organized medical records, files, and electronic health records (EHR), ensuring all documentation review and data entry are precise and timely
- Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office administration or front desk roles within clinics or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Elation Health.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and health insurance procedures
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records management software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle phone interactions professionally and courteously
- Bilingual abilities are highly preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous experience in healthcare environments is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and appointment scheduling
