Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, ensuring that pets leave our facility looking and feeling their best. This role requires a blend of technical grooming skills and the ability to handle animals with care and respect.
This job is based in our mobile pet grooming van traveling around the the cities around Grand Rapids MI.
This is a part-time position Mon, Wed & FRI and 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Duties
- Provide grooming services for various breeds of dogs and cats, including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping.
- Driving a company van
- Refilling and emptying water tanks
- Refueling the generator
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort during grooming.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
- Assist with animal handling in the kennel area as needed, providing care and supervision for pets awaiting grooming.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including lifting larger breeds onto grooming tables or into carriers.
- Give out business cards during slow time
- Drive to different parks or areas in the city during slow time
Requirements
- Previous experience in pet grooming or a related field is required.
- Strong skills in animal handling, including experience with dog handling and restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of pet care practices.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
