Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in preparing high-quality espresso beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, works well with others, and takes pride in delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve beverages and other menu items according to company standards.
- Provide friendly, kind, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Process customer orders and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, dining area, and workstations throughout each shift.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pitchers, and other café equipment.
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and work surfaces.
- Clean and restock restrooms to ensure a sanitary environment for customers and staff.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and maintain overall café appearance.
- Restock supplies, ingredients, and merchandise as needed.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties and support overall café operations.
Skills
- Previous barista experience at a Specialty Cafe and knowledge of espresso-based drink preparation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic cash handling and POS system experience.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform cleaning tasks.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment while maintaining attention to detail
Pay: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
