American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
-
48-bed adult Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
-
Patient ratio of 1:6 with 3-4 admissions per day
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
-
36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts (0.9 FTE)
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required
-
Every other holiday (EOH) required
-
May be placed on standby if census drops

Active RN license (NC or compact) currently in hand

Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS

CPI-A certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required

Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing required

BSN or MSN preferred
-
Strong skills in care prioritization, complex problem-solving, patient education, and safety management
-
Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and healthcare standards compliance
-
Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
-
Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
-
Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
-
Assess patient/family readiness and ability to learn, providing relevant education materials
-
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care and communicate for continuity of care
-
Identify expected patient outcomes and assist in revising the plan of care as needed
-
Prioritize and organize care according to patient and family needs, especially for complex cases
-
Consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues or high discharge planning risk
-
Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and professional growth opportunities
-
Opportunities for growth into charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical ladder roles

Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
