Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Telco Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise telecommunications and WAN infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications engineering, carrier circuit provisioning, Ethernet and TDM technologies, and network infrastructure support. This role will work closely with telecom carriers, network engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable and efficient communication services across the organization.Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support telecommunications and WAN network infrastructures.
- Manage and support Ethernet, MPLS, and legacy TDM-based network services.
- Coordinate with telecommunications carriers for circuit ordering, provisioning, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Perform network circuit activations, migrations, and upgrades while ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Monitor and maintain WAN connectivity, network performance, and service availability.
- Troubleshoot carrier circuits, WAN links, and telecommunications infrastructure issues.
- Maintain accurate telecom inventory, circuit documentation, and network records.
- Work with internal engineering teams and external service providers to resolve network and telecom-related issues.
- Support network modernization projects, including migrations from legacy TDM services to IP-based technologies.
- Participate in change management processes and provide implementation support during maintenance windows.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, telecommunications policies, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of telecommunications/WAN engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications network design, implementation, and support.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Ethernet technologies
- WAN infrastructure
- MPLS networks
- TDM technologies (T1, DS3, SONET, etc.)
- Experience working with telecommunications carriers and carrier provisioning processes.
- Knowledge of telecom circuit ordering, activation, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Familiarity with telecom inventory and database management systems.
- Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telecom inventory and provisioning platforms such as MetaSolv.
- Experience supporting large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of IP networking concepts and routing protocols.
- Experience coordinating with carrier NOCs and service providers.
- Understanding of network migration projects involving TDM-to-IP transitions.
Pay: $50.00 per hour
