Sales Manager Germany & Central Europe (f/m/d) (REMOTE)
The Sales Manager for Germany & Central Europe is responsible for increasing revenues and developing relationships with existing and new accounts in the assigned territory (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary). This position is driving the development and execution of sales related to optical components/assemblies to ensure the achievement of sales targets. In this role, you proactively engage with industrial customers and develop new prospects to position Edmund Optics’ manufacturing capabilities and address our customers’ specific needs.
The Sales Manager Germany & Central Europe reports to the Senior Sales Manager Central Europe and will work closely with other functional areas including the regional sales teams, marketing, regional and global optical components/solutions experts and engineering to develop objectives and presentations.
- Understand and monitor the market environment, identify and prioritize opportunities
- Understand our existing accounts’ business needs, challenges and goals
- Develop new accounts in the territory
- Act as the main point of contact, build trust and maintain long term relationships with key decision makers
- Actively collaborate in developing strategies for customer retention and growth and work trustfully with internal teams on customized solutions
- Coordinate processes with cross-functional teams in the interest of the customer to ensure customer satisfaction
- Lead bids and contracts (re-)negotiations
- Prepare regular reports, performance metrics and forecasts for internal stakeholders
- Represent the company at customers, at fairs and networking events

- Degree in engineering or in a scientific field (physics, optics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering)
- Product, technology, market knowledge around optical components/assemblies or its applications
- At least 3 years’ experience in technical sales, business development, key account management in the optics industry or similar related working experience
- Strong analytical skills and creative thinking to understand customer needs and drive revenue growth
- Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus
- Excellent communication, team-oriented and interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel within sales territory and internationally
- Enjoy working within an international team
