Position Purpose
We are seeking a technically strong PKI Specialist within the Product Management team to lead CA ecosystem engagement and drive public root strategy for GlobalSign. This role will participate in CA/B Forum and related industry forums, contribute to standards evolution, own root management strategy for the CA and support decision making of critical compliance changes with our compliance team based on market and customer voice for GlobalSign. This role is intended to be a strong external and internal PKI authority for the PM organization.
Role Overview
The role requires deep understanding of the Web PKI ecosystem, including browser and platform root programs, certificate policy implications, CT logging, certificate lifecycle controls, and broader trust infrastructure trends. The person in this role will assess the impact of standards or policy changes from root programs such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple and guide the organization on risk, strategy, prioritization.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company in CA/B Forum and other relevant standards or industry bodies, actively participating in discussions and helping shape positions on evolving standards.
- Track ballots, working group discussions, and industry developments, and clearly communicate product, platform, compliance, and business impact to internal stakeholders and provide clear recommendations on business side
- Contribute to standards evolution by bringing ecosystem insight and technical reasoning into discussions with industry bodies and stakeholders.
- Support root strategy and root lifecycle planning keeping trust drivers for the customers in mind.
- Serve as the PM team’s PKI subject matter expert on how the certificate ecosystem works end to end, including public trust models, certificate profiles, issuance and revocation controls and ecosystem dependencies.
- Advise product leadership on strategic implications of emerging PKI shifts, enabling proactive roadmap decisions rather than reactive compliance-only changes.
- Convert policy and standards requirements into BRDs, epics, acceptance criteria, and prioritized roadmap items in partnership with engineering and compliance teams
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in PKI, cybersecurity, or certificate authority ecosystems, with hands-on understanding of public trust, certificate lifecycle, and CA operations.
- Deep familiarity with CA/B Forum guidelines, browser/platform root programs, and audit/compliance expectations.
- Strong understanding of Web PKI standards and ecosystem mechanisms, including certificate profiles, CT logging, root hierarchies, revocation, and trust distribution models.
- Prior direct participation in CA/B Forum, root program engagement, or standards bodies relevant to PKI and digital trust
- Experience with SSL/TLS certificate ecosystems, or trust infrastructure platforms.
