A warm, welcoming family is seeking an exceptional full-time nanny to working Tuesdays through Saturdays and become a long-term member of their household. Based primarily in Downtown Manhattan or Brooklyn (family is in the process of relocating back to NYC) during the week and Locust Valley Fridays/Saturdays and throughout the summer, this role is ideal for a nurturing, highly safety-conscious professional who enjoys building meaningful, lasting relationships with children.
The family has two school-aged children and is looking for someone who brings the perfect balance of warmth, structure, and attentiveness. They value a nanny who is loving and engaging while also providing clear boundaries, encouraging responsibility, and fostering independence in an age-appropriate way. Their hope is to find someone who will remain with their family for many years.
Schedule
· The family offers a guaranteed 40-hour workweek and paid overtime as needed
· The typical schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with flexibility for occasional schedule adjustments and one date night per week
· Friday afternoons the family travels to Locust Valley, where the nanny will typically stay overnight through Saturday
· Summers are primarily live-in Tuesday through Saturday in Locust Valley
· The family is thoughtful and flexible regarding holiday and summer scheduling and is happy to work with the nanny whenever possible.
Responsibilities
· Pick up the children from school
· Safely escort the children to after-school activities and appointments
· Provide attentive, engaging after-school care
· Encourage independence, responsibility, and age-appropriate chores
· Maintain consistent, respectful boundaries and provide calm, thoughtful discipline
· Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities, games, and outings
· Prepare fresh, homemade meals and snacks for the children, with the ability to prepare simple family dinners being a plus
· Assist with children's organization and maintaining tidy living spaces
· Run occasional household errands
· Travel with the family several times per year as needed

· Naturally safety-conscious with exceptional situational awareness and sound judgment
· Extremely attentive while navigating New York City, always prioritizing safety and close supervision
· Comfortable transporting the children by Uber or private transportation and
confident installing and securing children's car seats and booster seats
· Calm, confident, and comfortable setting age-appropriate boundaries while encouraging independence and responsibility
· Experienced caring for school-aged children and knowledgeable about age-appropriate activities, games, books, and expectations
· Enjoys working collaboratively with an involved parent, often caring for one child while the parent spends time with the other
· Enjoy preparing fresh, homemade meals for the children and simple family dinners
· Happy to assist with household organization and occasional errands
· A confident swimmer and driver (driving will only be required outside of NYC)
· Happy to travel and seamlessly transition between city living and weekends and summers in Locust Valley
· Interested in becoming a long-term member of the family's support system
Compensation & Benefits
· $45–$60/hour gross, depending on experience
· Overtime paid in accordance with applicable law
