ROLE IMPACT
Join a growing pharmacy technician team where your knowledge and attention to detail help patients navigate insurance, prescription processing, and access to critical medications. This role supports timely patient care by managing pharmacy claims, coordinating with patients and providers, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the prescription fulfillment process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with patients to obtain insurance information and verify coverage details.
Process pharmacy claims, interpret claim responses, and accurately document all activity within the pharmacy management system.
Recognize different insurance types and determine appropriate coverage utilization.
Triage prescriptions to preferred pharmacies or HUB providers when services cannot be provided internally.
Respond to inbound calls from patients, physicians, payors, and clients regarding prescription status and patient services.
Manage internal communications through chat and email while maintaining accurate documentation.
Assist with special projects, including annual insurance reverification efforts.
Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to clinical staff in accordance with company procedures.
Support additional pharmacy operations and administrative duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in pharmacy operations, medical billing, insurance verification, prior authorizations, or healthcare administration.
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn pharmacy management software.
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Pharmacy Technician experience required; Pharmacy Technician Certification is a plus but not required.
Experience with pharmacy claims processing, insurance verification, medical billing, or prior authorizations.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document patient information.
Team-oriented professional with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal staff.
