Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and excellent customer service abilities. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service during assigned shifts. Previous experience in restaurant management, hospitality, or food industry settings is highly valued. The Shift Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring operational efficiency across all facets of the restaurant.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee food preparation processes, maintaining quality control and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Lead staff training sessions on food handling, customer service, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and control stock to minimize waste while meeting customer demand.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Assist with budgeting, labor scheduling, and maintaining operational costs within budget parameters.
- Conduct interviews and participate in hiring processes to build a competent team of restaurant staff.
- Enforce company policies related to food safety, hygiene standards, and workplace conduct.Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within the food industry; casual dining or quick service experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and provide clear instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and operational planning is desirable.
- Hospitality management background including hotel or catering experience is a plus.
- Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred; assistant manager experience advantageous.

Pay: $14.75 - $16.00 per hour
