Emergency Medical Technician (Basic EMT) – IHS Pine Ridge Hospital | Pine Ridge, SD

DT-Trak Consulting, Inc. is hiring Basic EMTs for an active federal contract with the Indian Health Service (IHS) Pine Ridge Hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. This is a long-term opportunity 4.75 years of potential continuous work.
Compensation Package (Per Hour Worked):
- Base Taxable Pay: $22.00/hr
- SCA H&W Fringe Benefit: $5.55/hr (non-taxable)
- M&IE Per Diem: $5.67/hr (non-taxable, $68/day ÷ 12 hrs)
- Lodging Reimbursement: $9.17/hr (non-taxable, $110/day ÷ 12 hrs)
- Total Blended Value: $42.39/hr
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (days, nights, or mid-shift rotation)
- Staggered shift system: 0700–1900, 0600–1800, 1900–0700, 1800–0600, 1100–2300, 1300–0100
- On-call, overtime, holiday, and callback hours billed at regular rate
Location:
Pine Ridge, South Dakota — serving the Pine Ridge Reservation (Oglala Sioux Tribe), IHS Pine Ridge Hospital, Kyle Health Center, Wanblee Health Center, and LaCreek Clinic. This is a rural, reservation-based position. Relocation or travel candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do:
- Provide BLS prehospital emergency medical services and inter-facility transport across the Pine Ridge Reservation and surrounding communities
- Respond to accidents, medical emergencies, and life-threatening situations
- Operate emergency and non-emergency transport vehicles per SD protocols
- Complete documentation per IHS, Joint Commission, CMS, and SD EMS standards
- Work collaboratively with IHS physicians, nursing staff, and EMS teams
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current National Registry EMT (NREMT) certification OR EMT certificate from a REPLICA compact state
- South Dakota EMT licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Minimum 12 months EMT or paramedic experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED
Credentialing Requirements (DT-Trak Supported):
- FBI National Criminal History (fingerprint) clearance
- OIG/SAM exclusion check
- Immunization documentation (Hep A, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, TB/TST 2-step, annual Influenza)
- Fitness for duty certificate from licensed physician
