POSITION SUMMARY
Wilcox Financial / Wilcox Sports Management is seeking a highly motivated, disciplined, and ambitious Financial Advisor Associate who is eager to build a long-term career as a financial advisor. This is an entry-level development role designed for someone who is not yet licensed but is committed to becoming a fully credentialed advisor. This is not a typical support or administrative position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality support to senior financial advisors in delivering comprehensive wealth management, financial planning, investment management, insurance, retirement, and estate planning solutions
- Assist with trading, data gathering, financial plan preparation, portfolio analysis, and follow-up communications
- Conduct research, prepare reports, and maintain accurate client records while ensuring full regulatory compliance
- Develop strong foundational knowledge of financial products, markets, tax strategies, and client service best practices
- Maintain a client-first mindset in every interaction, consistently meeting or exceeding the firm’s high standards for responsiveness and personalized service
- Actively study for and successfully obtain required licenses and registrations within designated timeframes
LICENSING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS
You will be expected to obtain the following licenses within the first 12 months of employment (study materials, training, and support will be provided):
- Life & Health Insurance licenses
- FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative)
- FINRA Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination)
- Success in this role requires strong self-discipline and a genuine commitment to mastering the material with a drive and confidence to succeed
CAREER PATH & THREE-YEAR COMMITMENT
This position includes a three-year commitment to the advisory team, reflecting the significant investment we make in your professional development. Progression is structured as follows:
Year 1: Focus on licensing and comprehensive training while assisting the team with projects and other assignments as needed.
Years 2-3: Client support and building deep expertise while contributing to the team’s existing book of business.
At the end of your three-year program: You will have two (2) primary pathways forward:
- Remain with the firm in a valuable support capacity focused on servicing the existing book of business, or
- Execute a launch as a solo financial advisor within our practice, building and growing your own book of business with the full backing of the firm’s resources, platform, and reputation
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Economics, Finance, or a closely related field (strong academic performance preferred)
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a growth mindset and the resilience to handle a demanding professional environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Prior internship or relevant experience in finance, banking, or client service
- Familiarity with CRM and/or reporting systems, Adobe, and Docusign / eSignature services
- Demonstrated interest in becoming a financial advisor (e.g., involvement in finance clubs, certifications, or self-study)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be authorized to work in the United States, successfully pass background checks, and meet all affiliated broker-dealer and regulatory eligibility requirements, including being fingerprinted upon hire per the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD)
- Willingness to work in a high-expectation environment where client service excellence is non-negotiable
- Investment accounts (except for employer sponsored plans) under the control of the employee or anyone within their household to be transferred to Raymond James as part of the onboarding process
