Plant Health Care Program Coordinator
Boutte Tree | Atlanta, GA
Boutte Tree is seeking an experienced Plant Health Care Program Coordinator to join our Atlanta team.
This is a unique non-management role for an experienced arboriculture or Plant Health Care professional who enjoys the technical side of tree care, working with clients, diagnosing tree-health concerns, and keeping complex PHC programs organized and moving forward.
You won't be responsible for managing employees or running daily crews. Instead, you'll serve as a technical and organizational resource connecting our PHC technicians, Sales Arborists, office team, and clients.
If you're an experienced PHC technician, Certified Arborist, or arboriculture professional who is ready to expand beyond a traditional technician role—but doesn't necessarily want to become a people manager—this could be a great next step.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll spend time both in the field and coordinating PHC programs, including:
- Conducting tree and property assessments
- Performing Tree Risk Assessments (TRA) as qualified
- Using a Resistograph and other diagnostic tools to evaluate tree condition and structural concerns
- Documenting findings, photographs, recommendations, and follow-up needs
- Coordinating ongoing PHC prescription properties and long-term treatment programs
- Monitoring treatment plans and making sure important follow-up items aren't missed
- Communicating directly with clients regarding assessments, PHC recommendations, treatments, and next steps
- Working with PHC technicians and Sales Arborists to address technical questions and complex properties
- Identifying additional PHC needs while on client properties and communicating opportunities to our Sales team
- Maintaining accurate technical and property documentation
- Helping coordinate structured technical training and development for PHC technicians
- Reinforcing PHC SOPs and established treatment practices
- Participating in Sales meetings as needed to provide PHC education and technical support
- Serving as a technical liaison between PHC, Sales, office staff, and leadership
- Managing a team of direct reports
We're looking for someone who can provide leadership through technical knowledge, organization, communication, and follow-through.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate has professional experience in Plant Health Care, arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, or a related field and is comfortable working independently in both field and client-facing situations.
You should have:
- Strong knowledge of tree health, common pests and diseases, plant stress, soil conditions, and PHC treatment practices
- Experience evaluating trees and documenting findings
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- Ability to explain technical arboricultural information in a clear and understandable way
- Ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and follow-up items
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors and travel to client properties throughout the Atlanta area
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certified Arborist
- ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)
- Experience operating a Resistograph or similar diagnostic equipment
- Previous PHC technician experience
- Experience with PHC prescription programs or long-term property management
- Experience training or mentoring other arboriculture professionals
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
You'll have the opportunity to use your technical expertise, work directly with clients, tackle interesting tree-health and diagnostic challenges, support the development of other PHC professionals, and play an important role in strengthening a growing PHC program.
We're looking for someone who sees a property and thinks beyond today's treatment—someone who notices what needs attention, documents it, communicates it, and makes sure the right people know what needs to happen next.
If you love arboriculture, enjoy solving problems, and want a role where your technical knowledge matters, we'd like to hear from you.
