We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and team-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Intermediate (Stepdown) Care Unit. This role provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced assessment, bridging the gap between medical-surgical and intensive care. The ideal candidate is confident in managing complex patient needs, prioritizing safety, and delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with complex medical and surgical conditions
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, neurological status, and changes in the patient's condition.
- Administer medications, IV drips including titration, and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Recognize and respond rapidly to patient deterioration or emergencies.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in bedside shift reports, huddles, and unit-based initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing
- Certifications: ACLS is required but can be obtained through our Training and Development Center.
- A minimum of 1-year acute care preferred. However, new graduates may be considered.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation
- Stroke, respiratory, or post-ICU care experience
- Familiarity with central lines, drips and complex patient management
