Description:
Validus Energy/Blue Mountain Midstream is seeking a qualified Compression & Pump Mechanic responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of natural gas compression equipment, crude oil and NGL pumps, engines, and related mechanical systems at field compressor and pump stations.
This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, responds to equipment failures, diagnoses complex mechanical issues, and supports the safe and reliable operation of midstream gathering and transportation assets. The Mechanic works independently in the field, provides technical guidance to other employees and contractors, and coordinates with Operations, Measurement, Automation, Engineering, and Maintenance personnel.
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
-
Minimum of five years of experience maintaining and repairing natural gas compression equipment, crude oil or NGL pumps, engines, or similar rotating equipment in the midstream oil and gas industry.

Advanced experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment and independently completing complex repairs and overhauls.

Experience working at field compressor stations, pump stations, gathering facilities, or similar midstream locations.

Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system or comparable maintenance-tracking process.
Preferred Experience
-
Technical or trade-school education in industrial maintenance, diesel mechanics, compression technology, rotating equipment, or a related field.

Experience maintaining both natural gas compression equipment and crude oil or NGL pump systems.

Experience with reciprocating and rotary screw compressors.

Experience with natural gas engines, diesel engines, electric motors, and associated drive systems.

Experience with centrifugal, reciprocating, and positive-displacement pumps.

Current Operator Qualifications for applicable covered tasks, or the ability to obtain required qualifications within the designated period following hire.

Knowledge of PHMSA-regulated pipeline operations and applicable maintenance documentation requirements.

Experience working within the Anadarko Basin.
Physical Requirements

Ability to tolerate prolonged shifts involving standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying weights of up to 50 lbs.

Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, including H2S, as well as prolonged exposure to outdoor work conditions, including extreme cold, hot and/or adverse weather conditions, and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment provided by the company.

Must possess a current, valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle.

Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays.
The qualified candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and not require company sponsorship.
