Athletic Trainer
Job Description
Palisades Charter High School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer provides preventive care, emergency response, clinical evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for Palisades student‑athletes. The Athletic Trainer also maintains record keeping for injuries, rehabilitation notes and “return to play” protocols and clearances. The Athletic Trainer also maintains inventories of supplies and coordinates purchasing of new supplies as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Designing and implementing evidence‑based conditioning programs, applying protective taping/bracing, and integrating preventative techniques to reduce injury risk during practices and competitions.
· Conducting rapid on‑field and in‑clinic assessments to determine injury severity, functional limitations, and appropriate care pathways.
· Delivering immediate first aid, CPR, and emergency stabilization, ensuring timely and appropriate response to critical incidents.
· Developing, updating, and executing individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning programs that support safe, progressive recovery and medically sound return‑to‑play decisions.
· Attend practices, home games, and designated away contests across fall, winter, and spring sports.
· Maintain accurate injury reports, treatment logs, rehabilitation notes, and clearance documentation in accordance with state laws and PCHS policies.
· Support the Athletic Clearance process, ensuring physical exams and required forms are properly submitted and reviewed.
· Assist with inventory, supplies, and equipment management as needed.
· May be assigned to supervise contests as the administrator’s designee when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Personal qualities of integrity and dedication to the mission of Palisades Charter High School.
· BOC Certification- Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC)
· Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification from either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
· Prior to start, completion of all PCHS HR and Athletic Online Trainings including but not limited to:
Heat Illness
· Concussion
·Sudden Cardiac Arrest
· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for away competitions.
Pay: $27.94 - $35.67 per hour
