IMMEDIATE OPENING for a full-time Registered Nurse (Family Practice) to support the Warrior Operational Medicine Clinic, McConnell Air Force Base, located in KS.
Qualifications:
- Degree: Associates.
- Experience: shall have at least 24 months nursing experience in direct patient care setting within the last 48 months, primary care clinic preferred.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
Responsibilities and duties but not limited to:
- The HCW will be knowledgeable and experienced on professional care theories, principles, practices, standards and procedures to provide comprehensive primary care to all family health population (Women’s Health/Pediatrics/Family Health/Active Duty).
- Perform telephone consults to include all family health population (referral placement for patients in Electronic Health System; walk-in and telephone triages and implement standing)
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Ensures compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF. Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.
- Perform physical exam and health histories. Provides health promotions, counseling, and education.
- Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions, such as phlebotomy, and IV insertions/administration.
- Directs and supervises care provide by other healthcare professionals.
- Recognizes adverse signs and symptoms and quickly reacts to assist patients in emergency situations. Provides emergency care as a Rapid Response Team (RRT) member.
- Communicates and collaborates with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
- Makes referral appointments and arranges specialty care as appropriate.
