Job Summary:
An Intermediate Fire Alarm Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and limited troubleshooting of fire alarm systems as directed by field supervisors. This technician should have a strong understanding of system components and can perform most duties independently while supporting senior techs and guiding entry-level team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Read and interpret blueprints and basic project specifications.
2. Select and organize materials for installation per project scope.
3. Climb ladders and use aerial lifts to install fire alarm components.
4. Install conduit, boxes, and hangers and pull wire per direction.
5. Terminate circuits and install devices with minimal oversight.
6. Perform limited system programming and testing under guidance.
7. Assist in leading and training entry-level technicians.
8. Conduct job site cleanup and maintain organized work areas.
9. Inspect and maintain tools and equipment.
10. Assist with inventory management.
11. Comply with job site safety and contractor requirements.
12. Perform basic inspection and testing per NFPA 72.
13. Respond to basic service calls and assist with troubleshooting.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 3–5 years of experience in fire alarm systems or related field
· Strong verbal communication skills
· Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on lifts
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
Optional:
· Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office Suite.
· Working toward NICET Level 1 or 2 certification
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
