Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Temporary Part-Time Healthcare Front Office Receptionist/Patient Coordinator to join our busy dental practice. This role is essential in providing a great patient experience, with first point of contact duties, coordinating patient's appointments, making financial arrangements for patients, handling accounts receivables and payables. While initially a temporary position, the job offers an opportunity for long-term employment for the right candidate as we seek to create a new position beyond our temporary position, in our well established and growing practice. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a kind and efficient manner.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR)/practice management software.
- Manage patient scheduling through office management software, ensuring timely appointments and follow-ups
- Collect payments and perform medical collections accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
- Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies
- Assist with phone communication by answering phone system professionally, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent patient service
- Support clinical staff by managing medical records, filing documents, and coordinating care plans as needed.
- Support our existing long term office manager/ patient coordinator and clinical personnel in a professional team environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a healthcare front desk or healthcare administrative support role within a allied health or dental office environment
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and or dental office management software.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone etiquette and maintain professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times
- Prior clinic or hospital experience is preferred; dental clinic experience is a bonus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and accurate data entry
- Flexibility to work part-time hours with potential for long-term engagement based on performance
- Ability and willingness to learn new tasks is a must
