Join AlphaMinds Team as a Part-Time After-School Chess Instructor!
Are you a passionate chess player with a knack for teaching? AlphaMinds Academy, a premier academic and enrichment school for children, with locations in Jersey City, Hoboken, Newark and Union City, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time chess instructors.
Qualifications:
- Chess Proficiency: A deep love and understanding of chess are essential. A USCF Rating of 1,300 or higher (or an online equivalent) is a requirement
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience in teaching chess to children or working with young learners in any educational capacity is a plus
- Availability: Must be available for in-person teaching at least 1-2 days/week, within the time frame of 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, starting in September 2026
Responsibilities:
- Engaging Instruction: Deliver captivating and educational chess lessons that ignite a passion for the game and nurture the strategic thinking skills of young minds.
- Supportive Environment: Create a nurturing and encouraging learning atmosphere that empowers students to thrive and excel in the world of chess.
- Recaps: Prepare session recaps to keep parents informed of their children's progress.
