Build a career in probate law with a team that values accuracy, responsibility, and steady growth.
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented aspiring professional to join our legal team and grow into a strong Probate Legal Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in doing careful work, follows through on commitments, and wants to build meaningful skills in estate and trust administration. Legal experience is helpful, but we are equally interested in candidates who are motivated to learn, coachable, and ready to contribute to a high-standard, client-focused office.
In this role, you will support document preparation, quality control, case management, and client communication while helping matters move forward efficiently and professionally. We value people who are organized, self-directed, and committed to getting important work done the right way.
- Keep accurate, honest time records and document work clearly so client billing can be supported with confidence.
- Proofread your work carefully before turning it in, with a strong commitment to accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
- Take ownership of assignments by following through, tracking details, and helping each task move to completion.
- Show good judgment, respect client confidentiality, and stay focused on work that adds value to the client and the team.
- Follow office procedures consistently and contribute to an efficient, dependable workflow.
- Be ready to learn and grow using our practice management tools, including LEAP, with access to training and skill development over time.
What you can expect to do
- Coordinate communication with clients, courts, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide case updates.
- Maintain detailed case activity logs, deadlines, and correspondence so tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide administrative support such as data entry, calendar management, and filing documents electronically or in paper form.
- Communicate professionally with current and prospective clients.
Core qualifications and strengths
- Legal Assistant experience is a plus, especially in probate, estate planning, trust administration, family law, or business law—but not required for a strong learner with the right work habits.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Clear writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents, with excellent proofreading habits.
- Confidence in gathering information from clients and other parties with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes, filing procedures, data entry, and document review standards.
- Ability to coordinate tasks efficiently from start to finish and help maintain steady case progress.
- Strong phone and communication skills for client interactions and day-to-day team collaboration.
- General administrative or clerical experience in an office setting is helpful, especially if paired with reliability, initiative, and attention to detail.
Our hiring process may include skills assessments and practical exercises before the probationary period begins. We are looking for someone who wants more than just a job—we want a team member who is dependable, motivated, and ready to grow with us. In return, we offer meaningful work, a collaborative environment, and the opportunity to build lasting professional skills in probate law.
