We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and safety-focused CDL Box Truck Driver to join our logistics team. This position requires extensive travel throughout the United States, so candidates must be comfortable driving long distances, traveling across state lines, and completing over-the-road (OTR) routes as needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating commercial vehicles, navigating long-distance routes, handling freight, and maintaining compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Drivers must be flexible with travel schedules and willing to drive extended distances to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial box trucks while following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and company safety regulations.
- Travel extensively throughout the United States, including long-distance and interstate routes.
- Be willing and available to complete over-the-road (OTR) travel and extended-distance driving assignments.
- Navigate using GPS and route-planning systems to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Load and unload freight as needed and ensure all cargo is properly secured before transportation.
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations and obtain required signatures, delivery confirmations, and documentation.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and immediately report mechanical or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, cargo manifests, delivery records, mileage reports, and inspection documentation.
- Follow Hours of Service requirements and all applicable commercial driving regulations.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, warehouse personnel, and other members of the logistics team.
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of assigned vehicles.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Must have a clean or acceptable driving record and be legally eligible to operate commercial vehicles.
- Previous commercial driving, box truck, delivery, route-driving, or OTR experience preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel long distances throughout the United States and across state lines.
- Must be comfortable spending extended periods driving and traveling for work.
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements.
- Strong understanding of cargo loading, unloading, and freight-securing procedures.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in various road, traffic, and weather conditions.
- Ability to perform required vehicle inspections and identify potential safety concerns.
- Strong time-management, navigation, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while following assigned routes and schedules.
- Hazmat, tanker, or other CDL endorsements are a plus but are not required unless specified for a particular route.
