We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper/Accounting and Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Process payroll efficiently, ensuring timely payments and compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to verify account accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and ensure proper account classification for governmental or non-profit accounting needs.
- Assist with budgeting processes and provide support for financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Support tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of tax-related transactions and providing necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and internal controls while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Skills
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Expertise in payroll processing, including tax experience related to payroll taxes and deductions.
- Familiarity with financial software systems for general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and financial report writing.
- Solid understanding of GAAP standards, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation procedures.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks such as account analysis and transaction recording.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account analysis and general ledger reconciliation tasks.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain financial concepts and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Experience working within public accounting or in a role supporting governmental or non-profit organizations is a plus.

Pay: $23.25 - $28.01 per hour
