Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy machinery using schematics, OEM manuals, and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems across various equipment types.
- Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and assembly to modify or restore machinery components as needed.
- Execute preventive maintenance routines including tire service, alignment adjustments, fluid changes, and brake repairs to minimize downtime.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely during repair procedures or testing phases.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of complex machinery parts.
- Maintain detailed service records and logs of repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and suspension components.
- Ability to read schematics, OEM manuals, and technical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience with assembly and equipment repair is essential.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or similar machinery is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation; able to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, working at heights or in confined spaces; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
